So I love going to the Wednesday Farmer's market which is 5 blocks away from us in the Castro near Cafe Flore. They have fresh bread, local meats, cheeses, sorbet, flowers, fruits and veggies. Seeing the seasons evolve through the colors at the stands, has become a favorite past time. Pomegranates, persimmons and Kabocha squash are recent arrivals. I asked about fruit for baby food at the "blueberry" stand, and they said I could buy bruised fruit at a discount of .50/lb. Their version of bruised fruit is a slight blemish so I have been buying pounds of it for desserts and baby food .....he only eats 1-2 cubes a day. Need to clear out our 2 freezers because the Farmer's market closes at the end of the month. Not sure what I will do on Wednesday late afternoons.
Yum!Yum! That little fellow is going to be a gourmet eater. Those bruised blueberries sound great for oodles of things! Wish I could go. Gramsy
