Safe to say that the progress we made in the sleep department has been partially undone.
Oskar woke up vomiting the week before Thanksgiving at 11pm. It was scary. Oskar was very upset. David had a late night at work so it was just me. I smelled it when I came into his room and then felt it all over his sleep sack. It even hit the wall. Gross
I changed the little guy and put him back to sleep....only to hear him a few minutes later howling again. More puke. So I changed him again. This time, mid-change I felt his skin chill and heard him cry. So I picked him up and he did it again only this time while I was holding him. So hard to feel the convulsing. Reminded me of a puppy. This was the final time. He slept well after being tucked into bed with fresh jammies.
The following night, I fed him a dinner of solids. He screamed and kept screaming when I tried to give him a bath so I skipped the bath and changed him as fast as I could. He nursed and conked out immediately. I called Dr. Simons. He said that it is very common. Gastroenteritis or something like that. He can get it from touching almost anything that is contaminated and putting his hands in his mouth. Advice was not to feed him solids for a few days - only breastmilk. Adding food to the stomach is like salt on the wound - hence the screaming during dinnertime. Good to know.
Monday, for lunch I fed Oskar scrambled egg yolk, sweet potatoes and peas. I was eager to give him all the new purees I had made on Sunday. Peas were new. After his nap, he threw it all up. Common element for both events is egg yolk. He handled it for the standard 3 days but seems not to tolerate it anymore. It might have been peas that were not pureed enough or he plum doesn't like them, but I feel pretty sure that egg is the culprit. That said, reducing causes is like finding a needle in a haystack.
Incidentally, their is a stomach bug floating around SF kids so my food theories may be mute.
Now we are more rigorous with wiping hands after public places. I am still gungho to try out new foods but plan to be a bit more cautious with the egg yolk, tofu and yogurt.

Oh, dear! That was awful. You're getting the REAL taste of all the dimensions of motherhood! It happens! Gramsy
