Found it!!

OMG. The rewards of writing thank you notes. Truly. I have had nightmares about losing this pocket watch. Last Christmas, Warren gave Oskar his great grandfather's watch. His great grandfather is Oskar's namesake. I had packed the treasured watch safely, but couldn't find it anywhere when we returned. It has been haunting me for months now.....I thought maybe it got lost in the shuffle of going to Pops and Coco's place and then back to SF.
Imagined in a dump somewhere rusting under banana peels and newspapers.

Finally, it emerged when I went to look in my filing cabinet for note cards for thank you notes. Joy.

The back of the watch is inscribed and says in beautiful cursive lettering:
Presented to Oscar Strandberg

Oskar was born 5-4-09. many years later.

  1. I'm sure Oscar Strandberg had no idea that this watch would eventually be presented to Oskar Strandberg 81 years later! What a treasure! I wonder if pocket watches will ever come into vogue again! Gramsy
