We successfully made it to and through the Long House Tour. Kids had a great time using binoculars and taking pictures. Gus even asked a few questions of the ranger.

Grandma's Visit for O's Bday

Grandma arrived Thursday evening. Friday morning Oskar opened his birthday gifts which includes a Lucky Brand "Love" T-shirt and a brown suede leather cowboy jacket. Wow! We went to the Randall Museum where they have a petting zoo of bunnies and chickens. Audrey and Bonnie were in art class at the same time so we visited them and Audrey and Oskar proceeded to crawl up and down the ramp. Some of these pictures are from music class. Our tradition is to walk to music class in Upper Haight and then grab a beer and fries while Oskar eats his dinner at a local pub. Kent, Bonnie and Audrey always meet us....even though they didn't sign up for the second semester.

Welcome Oskar Coleman Strandberg!

On Monday May 4th at 3:39pm, Oskar Coleman Strandberg was born in our bedroom. He weighed in at 9.5 lbs. which was a surprise for everyone. (GO HOLLY!) I can not tell you enough about how incredible Holly was throughout the birth. She went into labor with some very mild contractions Sunday night while we were watching a movie ("Into the Wild") at home. They tapered off that night long enough for us to get some sleep. We woke up early the next morning to more contractions and just spent the morning in and out of bed, timing contractions and preparing for the birth. At this point, Holly had gone very inward and was very focused. The birth massage we learned in our birthing class; out the door. Holly did not want to be touched. By the time our midwife, Maria, came by Holly was at 5.5cm and was ready to get to work. She got into the tub to ease the contractions, that were beginning to get stronger. An hour later she was at 9.5 cm. I joined her in the tub soon after...

Fun with Chasin

Chasin is 2+ and lives down the street. He and Oskar often visit together and just started a music class on Friday mornings. So far, they are fans of wrestling during lullaby time. Who can blame them? Occasionally Chasin comes over for a bath and there is lots of good fun in the tub. He will be a big brother next month. We are excited for an addition to the neighborhood gang.
